Reverend Rachael believes the Gospel’s power to transform lives is the heartbeat of all she does — whether in her vocation, her family, or in rest and fun with friends. That conviction has shaped every chapter of her story.A native Texan, born and raised in the Austin area, Rachael first came to Fort Worth to study Vocal Performance at Texas Christian University. After graduating, she and her husband Josh moved to Patagonia, Argentina, where God’s providence and provision became a defining truth in their lives during two formative years abroad.Upon returning to the States, Rachael continued working in music and Spanish education before pursuing her Master of Divinity at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She often points to her years in Children’s and Family Ministry as the perfect foundation for pastoral ministry — teaching her how to make complex truths accessible and how to meet people exactly where they are. Her pastoral path has taken her through a historic Appalachian church, a multidenominational community, and a diverse suburban congregation, each shaping her understanding of what it means to lead with both conviction and curiosity, skills she credits in part to her time in TCU’s Senseless Acts of Comedy troupe, where she learned to listen closely and adapt on the fly. Through it all, she has come to deeply value the connectional model of the PCUSA, and the call it gives every pastor to be an excellent friend to colleagues. Rachael and Josh are the parents of four sons, ranging from college-aged to elementary school. The family loves to travel and can usually be found cheering each other on at sporting events and performances. When she’s not at church, Rachael is living the best mom life, watching a comedy set or a movie with her husband, or sharing coffee and a long conversation with friends.
