It seemed to be truely inspirational to all of the youth. They will remember this for a long time. Well Done !!

ERIC, We are soooo proud of the way you handled the Trip To Nowhere. It seemed to be truely inspirational to all of the youth. You guys, youth and adults, have done a wonderful job of seeing God and taking God into the communities that which this trip has led you. I am not all that surprised by this and at the same time truly proud of each of you. The song that Eric encouraged you to hear as your pray is one that has called me regularly to look around me more carefully. I also appreciate it that the song reminds us that we cannot do it perfectly all the time. Ask for the love for God's creation and then do the best we can to live out that love. isPermaLink="false">http://www.wpcfw.org/?p=745#comment-23

When I was in Disciples training, I learned three questions that have helped my understanding of scripture more than I can say. With any passage, you ask these questions: What does this passage say about God? What does it say about people? And what does it say about the relationship between God and people? I can't tell you how many times these three simple questions have helped me with my reading. OK, I'm not saying that everything became crystal CLEAR after I asked the questions. But having a few simple, consistent questions I can ask about ANY passage in scripture, first of all, helps me get past all the crazy names and the 100-word sentences and the "why is he doing this when he just did that" and all the little details that can make reading scripture difficult. I think the simple questions help me get past the trees and look at the forest. Sure, the Bible is full of lots of different stories, some that even seem to contradict others. But when I started looking at the big picture of what the different stories were telling me about God and our relationship with him, I was amazed at how consistent the Bible's message is. I hope you guys will try finding some simple questions to ask, whether it's these or others, and sticking with them. I think you'll be really surprised to see how much it adds to your devotional reading.

When I was in Disciples training, I learned three questions that have helped my understanding of scripture more than I can say. As to devotionals I find that I have to do it first thing in the morning BEFORE anything else, otherwise it just gets crowded out.
Also find something in the passage that can be taken with you to use throughout the day, a word or action or thought. I have even written pieces of passages down and taken them to work in my pocket to remind me, I don't even have to read it, when I feel it there I am reminded of the thought.
As an aside do you have a projected return time on Wednesday?

Sounds like you all are having an amazing trip.<br

Isn't nowhere an awesome place with God. Journeying with God and Eric's grill/griddle has its perks. Hope that tomorrow turns out to be even better. Good night and God bless. I hope that you guys spend some time talking about Jesus being who we need even when we are not in trouble, or walking through the valley of the shadow of death, or being at our lowest. Jesus walks with us each and every moment of our lives and because he is there in our sorrows He makes our joys with Him that much more. Glad that things are going so great. Keep up the walk.
